THIS IS A COMPETITION IN WHICH PRE-UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AGES 13 TO 17 ARE INVITED TO TAKE PART IN GOOGLE CODE-IN, OUR CONTEST INTRODUCING YOUNG MINDS TO THE WORLD OF OPEN SOURCE. WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF BITE-SIZED TASKS, IT’S EASY FOR BEGINNERS TO JUMP IN AND GET STARTED NO MATTER WHAT SKILLS THEY HAVE. MENTORS FROM PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO LEND A HELPING HAND AS YOU LEARN WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK ON AN OPEN SOURCE PROJECT.
This blog post help to explain what Drupal really is in a very simple manner so that my grandparents or friends who doesn't know Drupal can understand what Drupal is and what it is used for .
Drupal operate on computers that many persons around the world can access. It was created by Dries Buytaert and Hans Snijder from The Netherlands in 2000.

According to drupal.org, Drupal is defined as a content management system and development framework but what does the definition really mean? Drupal is a system which can be used to create and manage documents for people to see or information which can be used on a computer for work, school, advertising and more.
Drupal can be used to create many types of documents called websites. It can create things reflecting that of a newspaper to publish and sell or other documents such as magazines, advertising documents for a product or just writing an article about anything you like. Drupal can do many tasks with you putting in as little effort as possible, and can be done by anyone or any group of persons. Drupal is very good and flexible system. It enable people to make all types of web content with not trouble and can be done by anyone. This is a list of sites Drupal made.
Drupal is able to do all the tasks listed previously and also it is well secured. There is no need to worry about people robbing you of your work or even changing it. It is free for persons to get the underlying code and also to edit their work, this is called opensource software.
It is used worldwide by over a million people to create ove 1 billion websites just by using their computers to carry out different tasks. SO what is drupal? It is a system on your computer that enable you to create almost any website you want.
